Regardless-FFT is fantastic and god the translation really delivered the whole way through. Didn't really matter though because the rest of my party absolutely wrecked face. I also never ended up getting Ramza to dark knight, but I did spend a chapter or so not realizing you could steal skills off dead people-ended up with only about 1000 JP on black mage needed, but didn't reach it quite in time.
I finished at around 50 hours recorded and could only imagine how much longer it'd take to grind up all those new units. I did end up swapping out Balthier for Mustadio (as Balthier is my 2nd fav ff character ever and just was.legitimately much better.), but everyone else I just kinda benched even though I think I got every side character. I know they're all OP-but when I finally got Cid right as Agrias got her final skill for the build I was working on, I just was like well.whatever he's benched. My few complaints about chapter 4 would be the onslaught of cool units which would require a bunch of time grinding to build out. I am incredibly salty that Agrias didn't get a mention in the ending though, I loooooved her and was heartbroken she couldn't go back to save her princess. Ramza is also a great protag-I like the fact he wasn't really interested in ambition, just doing the right thing. And Ovelia stabbing him first with the knife Agrias gave him? God it's all so good. He's the ultimate form of the ends justifying the means, and having him kill the one woman who reminded him of his sister as punishment for his desire just hit exactly right. But that post-credits scene? Absolutely perfection-cements Delita as my favorite Final Fantasy villain (even if he's not really Ramza's antagonist). But the line about Delita being a good man like Ramza said left me a little dissatisfied. The ending scene, before the credits, I was like hmmmm okay yeah.this is probably what Ramza would have wanted.
It's soooo much fun to play and so well written and oh my GOD the ending blew me away. Mid way through Chapter 4 I had gotten all of Agrias' skills and gave her the Excalibur-watching her mow through enemies dealing out something like 1000 damage on a good turn made me feel more powerful than I ever have in an RPG haha.īut really wow.what a fantastic game. Quick side note: The rush of power when having your units you've been building out come online? Indescribable. I finished Tactics this morning and oh my god what an amazing game.
